How do I book a dumpster?
Call (512) 859-6546. Tell us the address, what you are throwing away, roughly how much, where the container will sit and the dates. We match the job with an independent roll-off provider that serves your address and has the right size. You get the price and terms before anything is booked.
Who will deliver the dumpster?
An independent local roll-off company. Texas Roll Off Rental does not own trucks, containers or a yard. The provider delivers, hauls and disposes of the load, and your rental agreement is with them.
Is there a cost to call?
No. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
Sizes and weight
What sizes are available?
The common roll-off sizes are 10, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yards. Some providers also stock a 15-yard. See the dumpster sizes guide.
How do I choose a size?
Think about volume and weight. Light, bulky debris such as framing waste and furniture needs volume. Heavy debris such as concrete, dirt, tile and shingles needs a smaller container because the weight limit is reached first.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
The load is weighed at the landfill or transfer station, and tons beyond the allowance are billed at a per-ton rate stated in your quote. Ask for that rate before booking.
Can I fill the dumpster to the top?
Fill it level with the top rail, not above. Overfilled containers may not be hauled until the excess is removed.
Placement and permits
Where should the dumpster go?
Usually on a driveway or on firm ground on a job site, with a straight approach for the truck and clearance overhead. Put boards under the rails on a driveway.
Do I need a permit?
Not usually for a container on private property. If it goes in the street, alley or on a sidewalk, the city, county or state may require permission. HOAs may have their own rules. See Texas dumpster permit requirements.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
It can, especially thin concrete or hot asphalt. Boards under the rails spread the load. Most rental agreements make the customer responsible for the surface.
What can go in
What is allowed?
Most construction debris, household junk, furniture and cleanout materials. Heavy materials such as concrete, dirt and shingles may need a separate container or rate.
What is not allowed?
Paint, chemicals, solvents, fuel, oil, batteries, propane tanks, asbestos, medical waste and oilfield waste. Mattresses, tires, appliances and electronics are often extra or refused. See what can you put in a dumpster.
Timing and rental periods
How long can I keep the dumpster?
The rental period varies by provider, often several days to two weeks, with a daily rate after that. Long construction jobs may use monthly arrangements with swaps.
Can I get a dumpster today?
Sometimes. It depends on a free container, a truck with room on its route and a ready site. See same-day dumpster rental.
What is a swap?
The truck removes a full container and drops an empty one in the same trip. Builders use swaps to keep a site clear through each phase.
Construction projects
Which size do builders use?
On a typical single-family home, a 30-yard during framing and roofing and a 20-yard for drywall and trim, with smaller containers for heavy demo debris. See construction dumpster rental.
Can the provider document where the waste went?
Many can supply weigh tickets showing the receiving facility. Ask at booking if your project tracks recycling or diversion.
What if my project changes partway through?
Call the provider. Sizes can usually change at the next swap, rental periods can be extended, and an extra container can often be added. Tell them as early as possible, especially if the change involves heavy material.
Is anything different in Texas compared with other states?
The basics are the same everywhere. What stands out in Texas is the scale of new construction, the number of HOA-governed neighborhoods, clay soils that turn soft after rain, Gulf hurricane season on the coast, and hail across North Texas and the Panhandle. Each of those affects placement, timing or size.

No. It is a referral service. We match your job with an independent local roll-off provider, and the rental agreement is with that provider.
How much notice do I need to give?
A few days is comfortable in most cities. Short-notice and same-day drops are sometimes possible; same-day delivery is often possible when you call early, so ask when you call.
